FY 2014 Economic Development Accomplishments
- CAG began to administer a $304,000 regional Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) through the USDA Department of Rural Development. The RLF is administered through the CAG Economic Development District, and assists businesses and business growth throughout Gila and Pinal counties.
- CAG enhanced and developed economic development information and databases for the region.
- CAG helped to establish a Loan Review Committee to develop an application and necessary procedures for the regional RLF.
- CAG Staff has assisted communities as they consider community development infrastructure as a component of economic development business retention and attraction.
- The National Association of Development Organizations (NADO) announced that the CAG Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) represented a “Best Practice” document that all economic development districts throughout the nation should adhere to, and use as an example in their respective regions.
- The CAG CEDS Committee has continued to work on a regional “Broadband Initiative,” and has received two grants in order to identify broadband capacity, and to provide technical assistance to improve internet capabilities.
